About Carefull Communications

Dr Deborah Johanson

For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for writing and a deep interest in all things medical. This has led to a Masters and PhD in Health Psychology, qualifications in Health Science and Nutrition, as well as training in Medical and Health Copywriting. In 2021 I founded CAREfull COMMUNICATIONS - an owner operated medical communications company - and have been freelancing ever since.

I have half a decade of experience in research and have been published in several peer-reviewed scientific journals. Additionally, I have experience creating medical/health content for patient resources, professional resources, websites, and blogs. As a Health & Science Journalist, I have also been published in a variety of online and print publications.

I have worked in government, charity, and insurance organisations - all within the healthcare industry. I have clinical experience as a registered nurse in oncology, general surgery, maternity, endoscopy, and melanoma education. My qualifications, training, and experience give me a unique insight into healthcare delivery, physical and mental wellbeing, as well as patient care. This insight informs my writing, facilitating connection, conversation, and comprehension with patient, professional, and general audiences alike.
